Turkey Day!

Well, the Smiths had yet another successful Thanksgiving, with a little twist this year- it was prepared mostly by the kids! Aunt Janet and Uncle John came up to enjoy the festivities at our house in Skaneateles. I don't think anyone got food poisoning, and people seemed to enjoy it ! The only new and adventurous thing we tried was a new green bean casserole, which at least Marissa liked! Other than that, it was just turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, pumpkin bread, stuffing, etc. with yummy pies for dessert. We also got to watch some football and holiday movies, which was nice. The Purcells made an appearance via webcam, which was nice, so we could sort of pretend we were together. Gabe was wearing his cute Turkey bib (bought for him by his wonderful aunt!)

The rest of the weekend was very relaxing, it's always nice to have time off from work (and not on call). Aunt Mimi and Nanci came up for lunch on Friday, we went to the Sherwood Inn Tavern, which was yummy as usual. Friday night we had some of my high school friends over for a housewarming party. It's always good to catch up with the girls (and their significant others)!

Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving!

Our new family blog!

Hello Friends and Family! I am creating this blog so that we can keep in touch better, post pictures, discuss getting together and share news! I will let you all know how you can add postings, pictures, etc.

As for me, I'm struggling through my first day of work with my giant cast on. It's definitely quite cumbersome, I walk very slowly and I keep running into things with my giant foot. It feels very heavy. Dad's going to take some pictures and then I can show you all the grossness.

We're planning Thanksgiving for next Thursday, Todd's planning the menu. Let's hope we can cook a turkey! I know we have good help!

Hope to hear from you all soon!
